Quick! What do Hello Kitty, her twin sister Mimmy, Dear Daniel, and Charmmy Kitty have in common? If you say ”white cat”, points for you! If you find yourself asking why we’re talking about white felines all of a sudden, our answer is that it’s tied really closely with this week’s featured video, which is made by pink_ice.

Called “The White Cats of Periwinkle“, the video’s actually a collection of images featuring white felines, who the video maker says resembles the cats she actually has had. Because of her narrations about the cats in the slideshow, the viewer will get the vibe of seeing a story unfolding right before their eyes, especially since fitting music plays in the background as the pictures are shown.

Did we mention a lot of the cats in the video have an interesting feature?

What’s the one thing that binds SanrioTown members together? Their love of Sanrio characters, of course! This week’s featured blogger is no exception, and she shows her love for her favorite characters in a very creative way: be creating stories with them as the main cast!

“Fosters Home and Kuromi Lover’s Blog“, by kuromi_lauren, is a blog whose posts are almost purely composed of fanfiction that revolves around popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll, as well as characters that the writer herself has created. The stories are light and funny, fun reads for all the Sanrio fans out there.

Sanrio Strawberry House

For those who find themselves visiting Denenchofu, Tokyo in Japan, make sure you drop by the Sanrio Strawberry House (Ichigo No Ouchi).

Constructed in 1984, the building is said to be one of Tokyo’s first shopping centers for children, creating a fantasy world where they can play in strawberry fields. It is three-storied, the first two floors carrying Sanrio merchandise and the third a strawberry-themed playroom (and can be used for special events!). And when we say strawberry-themed, we mean strawberry-themed! From tables to fixtures, the room is surrounded by strawberry-shaped stuff, further creating the fantasy world for the kids.

The building is flanked on two sides by a smaller strawberry and a mushroom.

The “Hello Kitty Personality Workshop” Contest has started just last week, but we already have awesome entries coming from the participants! Check these out!

The contest runs from 15 July to 03 August 2009. The winners (names will be announced on 05 August) will receive two tickets to the Kitty Lab. Please note that the contest is only open for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and China residents only. Also, the winners cannot choose the date when the tickets can be used. The submitted entries may be used for promotional purposes here on SanrioTown.

Create a different look and personality for Hello Kitty, post it on your blog, and get the chance to win tickets to Kitty Lab, the most anticipated Hello Kitty event in Hong Kong for Sanrio fans! “Sanrio” and “A Bathing Ape” collaborated to create the Sanrio Baby Milo store, which contains products from both franchises, some of which shows the iconic characters of both companies in the same item.

Sanrio Baby Milo Store will be open from August 12 - 18 at the Shinjuku Flagship in Tokyo, Japan.
